What Readers Can Expect
Plain-language education. The book takes the questions people ask most often about mental health and recovery, from anxiety, depression, and ADHD to sleep, stress, and changing a relationship with alcohol, and explains them clearly, without jargon.
Grounded in evidence. Each chapter draws on current research and on Augustine's work as a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. It is general education to help readers understand their options and have better conversations with their own clinicians. It is not a substitute for individual care, and it does not promise any particular result.
Written with hope. Above all, the book is meant to be encouraging: a steady reminder that change is possible, that asking for help is a strength, and that no one has to walk through a hard season alone.
